Iupp Itaú, Banco Itaú’s new benefits plan, has replaced Plano Sempre Presente (PSP). With the end of the old loyalty program, Itaú credit card users will automatically accumulate points in Iupp, under the same rules as Sempre Presente. Therefore, all points accumulated in PSP are worth one point in Iupp and will be automatically migrated to the new platform. According to Itaú, the Iupp app, which is usually available for Android and iPhone (iOS), is “undergoing adjustments and will be relaunched soon.”
In the list below, TechTudo explains what Iupp is and how it works. Below, you can see how to sign up for Itaú's new points program and the main differences between Iupp and Sempre Presente. In addition, you can compare the service with other loyalty programs such as Nubank's Rewards, C6 Bank's Átomos, Santander's Esfera points and Banco do Brasil's Ponto para Você.
What is Iupp Itaú?
Iupp Itaú is the bank's new rewards program, offering discounts on leisure options, products, services and travel. It replaces Itaú's Sempre Presente program and will maintain the same points rules. The difference is that Iupp is available to non-Itaú account holders. Those who have an Itaucard credit card will continue to accumulate points, while those who do not have the company's card will be able to accumulate points by purchasing products and services at the Iupp shopping mall.
To participate in the Itaú points program, you only need to have a CPF and be at least 18 years old. The migration of points from Sempre Presente to Iupp will be automatic and will be available this Tuesday (16). In addition, customers of the old service must be registered in the Iupp program to replace the accumulated points.
How to register with Iupp?
To register for Iupp, Itaú’s points program, simply access the website “iupp.com.br” on your cell phone or PC browser. You must then click on “I want to participate” or “Log in or create an account”. How does the Itaú points program work?
The rules for accumulating points with Itaucard remain unchanged in the Itaú Iupp loyalty program. International and Gold Uniclass credit card customers earn 1 point at Iupp for every USD 1 spent on their statement, while users of the Platinum Uniclass, Personnalité Platinum and Personnalité Visa Signature cards earn 1.5 points per USD 1 spent. 1.8 points per dollar for those using Black or Infinite Uniclass cards. The points have increased to two points for customers of the Personnalité Black, Personnalité Infinite and Black Private cards – also 3 points for every dollar spent on international purchases. Finally, Infinitive Private card customers have the highest points per dollar spent, as they earn 2.5 points on domestic purchases and 3 points on international purchases.
In addition to Itaú account holders who use one of the company's credit cards, users registered with Iupp who do not have an Itaucard can also accumulate points in the program. To do so, simply use any Iupp Mall credit card. There, each real purchase is worth one point, which can be exchanged for other products and services at the store.
What is the difference between Iupp and the Sempre Presente Program (PSP)?
Sempre Presente is Itaucard's points program, exclusive to Itaú credit card users. At Iupp, anyone with a valid registration can earn points at shopping malls using the program, and it is not necessary to have an Itaú Plásticos card to gain benefits.
Furthermore, according to the bank, Iupp is an evolution of the previous program, as it has more options for collecting and redeeming Itaú points. For example, at Iupp Mall, you can exchange your points for products or use your points to earn discounts through the “Points + Money” option. With this change, transactions will also be centralized on a single platform, accessible via the address “iupp.com.br” on a cell phone, tablet or computer browser.
Is Iupp Itaú worth it?
For a quick comparison, the main difference between Iupp and other points programs on the market today, such as Nubank's Rewards and C6 Bank's Atoms, are the rules for accumulating points. At Nubank and C6, points are converted based on actual spending, while at Itaú, as well as Santander and Banco do Brasil, points accumulated on the credit card are valid for each dollar, equivalent to one dollar point. 5.63 reais at current prices.
On the other hand, Iupp allows anyone to register and use the program's benefits, which is not possible with Rewards, Átomos, Esfera do Santander or Ponto para Você from Banco do Brasil. Another positive point is that Iupp is free, while Rewards, despite its advantages, charges a monthly fee of R$19.90. It is also worth comparing the validity period of the points, which do not expire at the aforementioned digital bank, and are valid for 24 months at the Iupp store. Banco do Brasil's points program has also innovated, allowing Ourocard credit card users to redeem points on water, electricity, telephone and TV bills, an option not offered by Itaú's loyalty service.
