Wells Fargo continues to improve and expand its line of consumer credit cards, this time with the new Wells Fargo Autograph℠ Card*.
This no-annual-fee rewards card takes center stage with compelling benefits: Earn unlimited 3X points on top spending categories including dining, travel, gas, public transportation, popular streaming services, and calling plans. The signature card is currently available in select markets, but is expected to be available nationwide in mid-July.
The Autograph Card follows last year’s launch of the Wells Fargo Active Cash® Card and Wells Fargo Reflect℠ Card for cash rewards and balance transfers, respectively—not to mention a partnership with the Bilt Rewards Mastercard®.
Essentially, this card offers something unique in the already crowded rewards card space: higher rewards rates for common spending categories without the tracking or activation hassles that some high-income cashback cards require. With no annual fee, this card provides the right cardholder with a hassle-free rewards experience.

Press release. “So we take their feedback to heart, as evidenced by every new card we launch – Active Cash, Reflect and Autograph – you can see our focus on delivering competitive offers in each category. ”
Who Should Get a Wells Fargo Signature Card?
The Wells Fargo Autograph Card is definitely a step in the right direction for the issuer’s plans to enhance their consumer credit card offerings. Higher, simpler income is nice, but there’s still progress to be made on the rewards program, especially the travel redemption option.
Unlike other popular credit card rewards programs like American Express Membership Rewards or Chase Ultimate Rewards, Wells Fargo Rewards doesn’t allow cardholders to transfer rewards to hotel or flight partners, which can be disruptive for some travel enthusiasts trade. Collect rewards for discounted travel options. We’ve also found that the redemption option doesn’t add to the reward value like many of the best travel credit cards do.
Aside from the lack of these travel features, we can still recommend this card because the issuer has delivered on its promise to improve the credit card product. It’s very likely that Wells Fargo is working on a premium travel card to offer some features that Autograph lacks.
Meanwhile, if you’re looking for more rewards with a no-annual-fee card and don’t currently need elite travel benefits, Autograph could be a good option.
