If you’re a small business owner with a fleet, there’s a good chance General Motors will be a part of it.

As a leading manufacturer of trucks and other commercial vehicles, General Motors supplies many of the company’s contractors and suppliers. There’s now a new GM business card issued by Goldman Sachs, the company that launched the Apple Card a few years ago.

How this card works

GM Business Cards offer incentives for parts and service purchases from General Motors dealers, as well as several other common business purchases. This card can be used anywhere Mastercard is accepted, and your rewards can be used to buy or lease a new GM vehicle.

After you spend $2,500 on your card within three months of account opening, you’ll receive a $250 credit limit. Receive 5% rebate on service and parts from GM dealers and 3% on purchases at gas stations, restaurants and office supply stores. You’ll get 1% back on all other purchases made with the card.

You can earn any number of rewards up to the total cost of purchasing or leasing a new GM vehicle.

This card also comes with 0% APR on new purchases for 9 months. This card has no annual fee and no foreign transaction fee.

Benefits

This GM Business Card offers special rewards for purchasing parts and service from GM dealers. It also offers great rewards for purchases at gas stations, restaurants and office supply stores. Nine months of interest-free financing and a $250 bonus on new accounts are also great value. It’s always great to have a business card with no annual fees and no foreign transaction fees.

Disadvantages

The biggest problem with this card is that the rewards you get can only be redeemed for buying or leasing a new GM car. If you choose a used GM or any other brand of car, you will not be able to redeem your award.

On every account anniversary, you’ll also get 2% cash back on the first $25,000 in gas station and restaurant purchases, and 1% cash back on all other purchases—no limit. There is no annual fee for this card.

Línea de fondo

If you have your sights set on a new GM vehicle, this card is a great way to earn rewards. Every time you visit a GM dealer or otherwise collect your card, you’re one step closer to buying the new car or truck you want. If that sounds better than earning cash back or travel rewards, this might be the right credit card for your business.
