Mastercard and Microsoft announced Monday that the companies are combining technology to fight digital fraud. Mastercard’s Digital Transaction Insights will include Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 Fraud Protection artificial intelligence (AI) to help financial institutions and loan issuers better detect fraud and approve real transactions.

According to the press release, the aim of the partnership is to provide consumers and business owners with safe and smooth online transactions. Technology can better defend against fraudsters who take consumer information and use it to challenge legitimate transactions. According to Mastercard, this is an increasingly common form of digital fraud.

Digital trading insights offset this upward trend. It applies Mastercard’s innovative authentication technology to verify merchant data, thereby confirming the identity of consumers with greater certainty.

And by integrating Microsoft’s artificial intelligence technology, Mastercard’s digital transactions can adapt to changing digital threats. The technology is used to facilitate online transactions, including through smartwatches and digital wallets.
